The Man or the Mule

I try to stay away from politics as much as possible, but I came across this and just couldn't help myself. John Lawson is the Pastor of Children of God Ministry in Dallas, Texas and you can read more of his writing here. ~ Pilgrim.

A Farmer gets up early one morning, goes to his barn, feeds and hitches his mule, then goes to plow his field. He works all day but at the end of the day, he has only plowed half of the field. He takes his mule back into the barn, unhitches and feeds him, then goes back into his house. The next morning, the farmer is sick, and he can’t get out of bed. The other half of the field still needs to be plowed. Will the mule go out and plow the other half? NO! The mule cannot work, he has to be worked. Only the man can work.

The Bible says, “If they compel you to go one mile, go two.” An Employer hire’s a man, the job requirements is that he performs task 1, task 2 and task 3. When he does 1-2 and 3, he is being worked. He is no different than the mule but, if he does 4-5 and 6 on his own, he is working and not being worked, he is “THE MAN.”

The 6th Chapter of Galatians states, “Be not deceived, God is not mocked, whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap.” If we sow double, we will have to reap double. That will solve our financial problems in a hurry. So many of our Leaders call themselves Christian Ministers, but all the solutions that they offer, seems to come more from Karl Marx than from the Bible.
